Each student at Cistercian is put under the guidance and care of a Form Master. The Form Master leads his Form from fifth grade through graduation. He is the Form’s academic advisor, guidance counselor, disciplinarian, spiritual director, cheerleader, and caregiver.
The Form Master System, unique in the area, has its roots in European monastic schools. It provides the students at the school with a stable source of support, the parents with a consistent point of contact, and the faculty and staff of the school with an invested partner in education.
Form Masters know their boys. Through daily contact over eight years, they understand each boy’s interests, strengths, weaknesses, and personal and family history. Each boy knows he’s seen, supported, and loved.
