Cistercian believes that community is essential in supporting students through academic achievement, spiritual formation, and personal growth. To enhance student well-being, Cistercian has two Counselors available to provide emotional support and guidance to the Cistercian school community. Counselors are available as a resource for any Cistercian student who may be having emotional, social, or academic difficulties.
Counseling services include:
- meeting with students on a short-term basis for counseling
- parent and student consultation on issues related to student mental health
- providing referrals and resources for mental health professionals
- serving as a liaison between outside mental health professionals and the School
- crisis intervention
These services may be sought directly by students and families or advised by the School. Students can email the counselors directly or stop by the counselor’s office to schedule a time to meet. Parents can email the counselor if they would like to schedule a meeting or can call if they would like to speak by phone. Parents are encouraged to contact the counselor if their child is experiencing major life changes, such as illness or the death of a loved one, or if their child is experiencing a significant change in behavior.
