The Award recognizes outstanding senior student-athletes for achievements on and off the field on the basis of character, community service, leadership, and varsity sports participation. One of only five finalists in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, Charlie has excelled in a wide variety of endeavors as a three-sport varsity athlete (football, track, and basketball), two-time first-team all-conference performer on the offensive line, Student Council President, Eagle Scout, and Ruling Elder in the Presbyterian Church, while maintaining a perfect GPA, receiving National Merit recognition, running a small business, and leading a community service effort to benefit children with developmental disabilities, among other pursuits.

Following interviews this week, the scholarship winner, underwritten by Higginbotham and Simmons Bank, will be announced on November 14. Good luck, Charlie!
