On Saturday, October 6, just hours before the big Homecoming Dance, Cistercian hosted STAIRS, which is a local tutoring and mentoring program dedicated to giving disadvantaged youth an opportunity to “step up” at a crucial point in their education process, namely the transition between middle school and high school.

This September Fr. John and a student from Form V volunteered at Rays of Light, a Dallas philanthropy dedicated to serving children with special needs and their families. They spent an evening blowing bubbles, watching a movie, and playing sports, Legos and other fun games with the children.

Thanks to the Lenten sacrifices and contributions of the students in Form I, $628.26 was collected from Rice Bowls and donated to Catholic Relief Services. These donations are used to help support programs that prevent hunger and poverty in the United States and around the world.
