“Basilicakes” projects

In middle school, our students begin their language journey with Latin. By high school, they study either Spanish or French. To connect their language studies with theology, freshmen select a basilica from a Spanish or French-speaking country and create an artistic representation of it.

This year’s projects included everything from detailed paintings and LEGO models to impressive edible creations nicknamed “Basilacakes.”

Angel Tree

Form I’s Angel Tree Project for St. Vincent de Paul was a huge success! Every single gift slot was filled, thanks to the generosity of our Form I families.

Musical Revue

Upper School performed their musical revue for a packed theater of Middle School students. The standing-room-only crowd sang along to Christmas carols, enjoyed Broadway hits, and laughed at comedic sketches.

GRN Tour

Two Cistercian upperclassmen toured the Guadalupe Radio Network and were interviewed for Saturday’s “interview of the week.”

Reflections on the Lord’s Prayer, Our Father

The Our Father is the most familiar of all Christian prayers. Its constant recitation inevitably leads to a glazing of our mental eyes, rendering us numb to the shocking permission Jesus grants us in the opening words. He invites us, even requires us, to claim familiarity with God. “Pray like this,” Jesus tells those gathered for His Sermon on the Mount: “Our Father, who art in Heaven…” (Matthew 6:9).
