The Down Syndrome Guild Dance was awesome!

January 17, 2024 | Media

The Down Syndrome Guild Dance was awesome! With about 140 student volunteers and about 40 guests, Cistercian was packed with games, music, dancing, and the joyful blessing of simple solidarity. The boys and their friends worked marvelously to set up, run, and clean up the luau. Before beginning all the volunteers prayed and heard inspiring stories about two servants of the special-needs community: Eunice Kennedy Shriver (founder of the Special Olympics) and Venerable Jerome Lejeune (discoverer of Trisomy 21). Special thanks to Campisi’s for providing the volunteers with a free (and delicious) pizza dinner, and to Howdy Homemade for serving their awesome ice cream during the dance!!
