Named for two of the founding benefactors of the School, the Jim and Lynn Moroney Award represents the highest honor bestowed by the Cistercian Alumni Association each year. It is given to an alumnus “whose spiritual commitment to Cistercian is very much aflame and whose dedicated work on behalf of the Cistercian family enkindles our hope for the future.” The language of the award reflects the spirit of Cistercian’s school motto, Ardere et Lucere – to enkindle and enlighten. Michael exemplifies the spirit of the award in every way.
Jim & Lynn Moroney Award Dinner 2025
It was a wonderful evening at the 2025 Jim & Lynn Moroney Award Dinner honoring Michael Moroney ’77. Introduced by his nephew Sean Moroney ’05 and surrounded by family and friends, Michael shared many memories from his time at Cistercian. It was a joyful and happy night!
Speeches from the evening are available on the Cistercian Dallas YouTube Channel.
